Bambu Artist Alumni

We are indeed thankful to all the wonderful folks who labored here for the sake of their art in the past, and have moved on to other (or their own) studios.

Each was unique, each with a wonderful set of skills, many with a frailty or two, but we are most appreciative of their efforts while with us “Back Then”.

We truly extend to each one of them our best wishes for continued success in this crazy industry.

The artists are listed in the order they came on board and left. With the four  artists we currently have and the 14 who have moved on, it is interesting to look back at those who helped us get to where we are now.

Andrew: Was here only a short time, but helped Joel with manning the newly opened studio.

Alexis: Dedication to animals and their trampled rights, artist with a vision distinct from others, a charming person, our dear friend. She came to us at a time that was tempestuous, yet did some killer work and touched us all with her perspective.

Jason: Work hard, party hard, no regrets. But working hard meant getting better and better, stretching the medium to his perspective a little, and filling in the missing pieces by scientific observation. He was a blessing for us, but his feet got itchy, and he left to work in Boston, and now Philly. He has grown immeasurably with an incredible portfolio, and we are proud he got his start here. We, as always, wish him great continued success.

Korey: Being a single mom and being an artist is a tall order, and the logistics of travel was a killer, but she struggled with us to earn her credentials. Circumstances of life led to her leaving us, and she has since worked at a couple of other studios.

Neil England: Between shops, he came to us for a while, did some great pieces, and moved on, owned his own studio and now is back on the road. He is going strong and we wish him only the best in the future.

JJ: What an artist, what a conundrum. Constantly seeking the next medium to try to conquer. We had a lot of fun, and he helped us at a time that we really needed it.

Mondo: Wow! What a talented legend. We hope he is doing well.

Ben Milman: Temped here while his island paradise studio was being set up. We hope the storms haven’t clobbered his dream.

TJ: He has a clean and tight style, complemented our other artists, and was an important member of our team. He went on to open McInnis Tattoo.

Rich: Talented but impatient, he left just as we expanded. We hope he made the best decision for his future.

Melisa: A single mom and artist, she left for other opportunities.

Doug: Got married, had a kid, bought a house in Woonsocket, left for a studio closer to home. We wish him the best.

Joe: Left to open a studio and we will miss him.  We wish him good fortune as he begins this chapter of his career.

Tara: Left to open studio with Joe. We wish her success.
